Calhoun County Precinct One deserves steady leadership, real-world experience, and a genuine commitment to service. My purpose is simple: to strengthen our community, protect our coastline, support first responders, and help prepare our county for a stronger tomorrow.

1. Flood Control & Drainage Improvements

Flooding impacts daily life, especially in low-lying areas throughout Precinct One. I will:

  • Improve ditches, culverts, and outdated systems

  • Work directly with residents to identify severe problem areas

  • Push for engineering review and long-term drainage planning

  • Monitor and address drainage issues

Small drainage improvements today prevent major flooding tomorrow.

2. Roads and Bridges

Safe, dependable roads and bridges that keep us prepared and moving forward. I will:

  • Provide fair attention to rural roads, coastal communities, and neighborhood streets across Precinct One

  • Inspect and maintain bridges before problems become emergencies

  • Prioritize preventive maintenance to fix minor issues before they become costly repairs

Strong infrastructure without wasteful spending.

3. Shoreline Erosion & Coastal Protection

Our coastline is one of our greatest assets, but it needs constant care. I will:

  • Protect our shoreline

  • Support long-term erosion control efforts

  • Continue monitoring shoreline restoration projects

  • Support long-term erosion control efforts

  • Seek state and federal funding to ease the burden on local taxpayers

A strong, stable coast is essential for safety, tourism, property values, and our way of life.

4. Hurricane & Disaster Preparedness

Precinct One is on the front line of every storm. Preparedness can’t be optional; it must be a year-round effort. “It’s not a matter of if, but when the storms come!” I will work to:

  • Improve evacuation routes and communication

  • Coordinate with state and regional partners

  • Strengthen shelter planning

  • Increase community education and readiness before storm season

Experience matters when emergencies strike, and I bring decades of it.

5. Responsible, Transparent County Government

With experience in quality assurance, budgeting, audits, and public oversight, I understand how to manage resources wisely. I will prioritize:

  • Clear, honest, accessible budgeting

  • Responsible spending

  • Open communication with residents

  • Fair, professional hiring free of political favoritism

Taxpayers deserve a commissioner who treats every dollar with respect.

6. Public Safety

Public safety is the foundation of any strong county, and it has been the foundation of my entire career. Too many of our experienced paramedics and EMS professionals are leaving for better pay elsewhere. That hurts response times, patient care, and community confidence. As Commissioner, I will:

  • Advocate for competitive pay and strong retention programs. Because I understand that “seconds count.”

  • I will work with State and Federal elected officials to seek support and funding that help us retain or best people. If needed, I’ll be the voice that stands up and speaks out, because keeping experienced personnel here at home is critical to safety.

  • Support training, equipment, and resources

  • Strengthen partnerships among EMS, fire departments, and county leadership

7. Tourism and Parks

Tourism plays an important role in our local economy and our quality of life. I support our Park Committee by encouraging new ideas that enhance visitor experiences while preserving what makes our beaches special. I will:

  • Support the Park Committee in developing local projects.

  • Promote responsible tourism.

  • Maintain clean, well-kept beaches.

  • Preserve safe, responsible beach camping.

  • Protect and preserve our shoreline.

8. Completing the Magnolia Beach Fire Station

The Magnolia Beach Fire Station is entering the bidding phase, and I want to help guide it to completion. This project has been important to our community and was especially meaningful to the late Commissioner David Hall. My goal is to support its progress, ensure it is completed with care and transparency, and see it become a station our volunteers and residents can be proud of — a lasting tribute to Commissioner Hall’s dedication.
